To Infinity and Beyond

One of the ideas I came up with while doing a mind map for our assignment was a mobius strip (the figure 8 on its side.) It symbolises infinity and yet it only has one surface. I twisted a long strip seventeen times and then flattened it at the intersections and I ended up with this shape. The negative spaces were interesting so I traced these and cut them out. Now I had a negative of a mobius strip. My next thought was to let the space around us act as the strip and bring it back to life.
